People Visit Your Site. Then They Call Your Competitor. Here's What's Happening.

Had a client call me last month. Sounded frustrated.
"Igor, people are visiting my site. I can see it in Google Analytics. But my phone isn't ringing."
I've heard this exact sentence about 47 times at this point.
So I ask him: "How much traffic are you getting?"
Turns out he's getting decent numbers. Not crazy, but solid for Malta.
People are finding him. Clicking through. Looking at his pages.
Then... nothing.
No calls. No emails. Not even a single WhatsApp message.
Here's what's actually happening.
Someone searches for his service. Let's say it's "plumber Sliema" or whatever.
They click his site.
And then they land on this massive wall of text about his company history, his values, his mission statement, and a photo gallery from 2019.
All fine stuff.
But the person just wants to know: can you fix my sink? How much does it cost? And how do I book you?
They don't find that answer in 5 seconds so they hit the back button and call your competitor instead.
Your competitor who has a big button that says "Call Now" and a price estimate right there on the page.
Simple as that.
I see this constantly with Maltese businesses.
They spend money getting people TO the website. Then the website does absolutely nothing to convert them.
It's like opening a restaurant, getting people through the door, and then not giving them a menu.
So we fixed three things on his site:
Made the headline crystal clear about what he does
Put the call-to-action right at the top (and repeated it 3 times down the page)
Removed 80% of the fluff that no one reads anyway
Same traffic. Same ads. Same everything else.
Two weeks later he texts me: "Phone won't stop ringing. What did you do?"
Nothing magical.
Just made it brain-dead simple for people to take the next step.
Because here's the thing about Malta:
The market is small. Competition is tight. People compare options FAST.
If your website makes them think for more than 10 seconds? They're gone.
And they're not coming back.
Your site doesn't need to be fancy. Doesn't need animations or a redesign or any of that stuff.
It needs to answer one question clearly: "What do I do next?"
Make that obvious and your phone will start ringing.
Keep it confusing and you'll keep watching your competitors eat your lunch.
Talk soon,
Igor
P.S. If you're getting traffic but no leads, we should probably look at your site together. Because I can almost guarantee the fix is simpler than you think. Secure your free audit https://www.ibresults.com/strategy-call
